While walking to the UT Football game against UK, we happened to walked along side a church that was allowing tailgaters to use their parking lot. At about half way past the beginning of the lot, we saw The Volunteer Bus and a female voice spoke out and offered us some water. We stopped, accepted the water and commented on the conversion of the mini school bus to a UT branded specimen. That's when the story started for The Volunteer Bus and how it drove around meeting the needs of the community not just on game days.
The UT themed bus provides gently worn UT spirited clothing and food for the homeless while blasting Rocky Top. We were invited to tour the bus and got to see signatures from all VFLs that visited. It was encouraging to see how meeting the needs of the community intersected with a sports passion. Thanks @thevolunteerbus for welcoming us into your space. Keep doing the good work that you are doing as commissioned. #handsandfeet
